Evolve Media is seeking an Ad Product Managerwho can bridge business and technology to grow our business.  The Ad Product Manager will partner with Sales, Marketing, and Technology to lead and maintain a market and metric driven product strategy and roadmap for Evolve’s ad-serving technology and display ad products.  Then, work with Engineering to translate that strategy into a valuable, high-performance, scalable product offering, displayed across Evolve’s network of over 600 websites.
 
 The Ad Product Manager will report to the Vice President of Product Management, a key leader of the Senior Management Team.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Ideate, test, and define the features of the product;
  • Forecast and decide on release dates and content;
  • Assist business owners in improving the profitability of the product;
  • Prioritize features according to their market value and the logical order of development;
  • Adjust features and priority as needed;
  • Accept or reject work results;
  • Protect the team from distractions and remove impediments;
  • Provide technical advice and context to business owners and business advice and context to the development team.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a product manger and 4 years experience within an Internet-based business;
  • Demonstrated passion and success in defining and launching excellent products;
  • Demonstrated success as an engaging “servant leader” for highly-qualified and diverse technical teams;
  • Proven ability to persuade and influence without formal authority;
  • Experience designing and describing highly usable products using mocks/wireframes/prototypes generated by software such as Photoshop, Balsamiq, Visio, or Axure RP;
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data and/or highly technical material to a non-technical audience;
  • Excellent analytical skills, including ability to diagnose and describe traffic patterns on large properties;
  • Moderate technical skills; not a developer but able to intuitively understand the technology behind the products being built;
  • Functional knowledge of generally-accepted white-hat SEO and traffic acquisition practices
 
Strongly Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience managing a development team using Scrum, XP, or other Agile/Lean methodologies;
  • Experience with ad-supported business models
  • Experience managing remote development teams
  • Previous hands-on experience developing a web-based application from concept to cash, ideally using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP/Perl/Python/Ruby, and MySQL
  • Experience working within a media or interactive agency environment
