CraveOnline Corners the Combat Sports Market by Partnering with Legendary Boxing Brand, The Ring

LOS ANGELES – March 3, 2011 – Evolve Media Corp.’s CraveOnline (www.craveonline.com), one of the fastest growing next-generation male lifestyle sites, announced today that it has partnered with SEP, Inc, owners of The Ring Magazine, the premier boxing publication since 1922, to create a new site for RingTV (http://ringtv.craveonline.com/). CraveOnline will not only construct a new, more modern boxing site for the publication, but will also provide full media services by spearheading all sales efforts and working with new and existing marketers to create digital marketing programs that engage the audience through video, rich media, social and mobile ad components.

Through CraveOnline, RingTV will offer more in terms of news, interviews, videos, photos, and live streaming fights, turning RingTV into a full service online boxing destination. In addition to creating the new RingTV site, CraveOnline will be responsible for generating premium content and will be expanding the existing editorial team, which already consists of some of the leading boxing journalists such as Michael Rosenthal and Doug Fischer. The Web site will also provide an archive of many of the most memorable articles and in-depth features and from the magazines near 100 years of publication. The addition of RingTV to CraveOnline’s existing combat sports coverage, which includes such leading online publications as Sherdog and FightHype, significantly bolsters Crave’s reach and authority across boxing and MMA, making it the leading online source for premium combat sports content.

CraveOnline, through its partnership with RingTV, will help power the boxing content for Yahoo Sports. Since 2008 Yahoo! Sports’ boxing channel has featured editorial content from The Ring magazine, along with stories and video content from The Ring.com online.

“There is a significant demand from major advertisers to engage online with the combat sports audience and CraveOnline is the leading publisher connecting and engaging brands with this community through innovative media programs across our premium content properties,” said John Keefer, President of CraveOnline. “By partnering with The Ring and powering their new site off of the Evolve publishing platform, we can produce better content, presented in a richer Web environment and thereby better engage brands with this audience.”

“We are excited to be collaborating with CraveOnline, which boasts a proven track record of producing premium content and custom, integrated media programs for leading brands,” said Richard Schaefer, CEO of SEP. “This partnership will not only enable RingTV to enter a new generation of engagement for its viewers, but also transform the site into the ultimate boxing channel.”
